1602 text LCDs are handy for some quick and simple projects. In the latest project I need to mount one of this LCD on a diecast aluminium enclosure, here I recorded my method and process.
The size of the cutout is 72x25mm, I first marked the shape on the lid.
My WAZER does not have a laser crosshair to tell where the exact 0,0 is, so I first put a piece of paper on the cutting bed to create a “soft origin”. Later I found paper is too soft for this task.
Position the lid and fix:
The error is about 1mm, which is acceptable.
I’m happy with the result.
