Whale of an Idea

I am old enough to have done some paper drafting many years ago. Actually scribing film for cartographic work. To hold the paper or film in place we used “whales” heavy lead shot filled bean bags.

I tried something similar on the Wazer and now am going to use this method wherever it can be used. I had some very heavy copper buss bars which work perfectly. I am going to get some heavy stainless plate and make a bunch more of different sizes and shapes. Be sure to “check extents” before cutting and reposition the “whales” if necessary.

This method is so much faster than screwing in screws and finding places that still hold them. Bed life will also be greatly extended. If using a really worn bed, be sure to anticipate small parts dropping out which could cause problems.
